With that said, here's a winter time action option while there's snow to enjoy. It's cheaper, and you can do it as a group activity. Steep or not, if there's a way you can get up the hill without walking, go for it. Also, because tubing hills are connected to ski resorts, you can enjoy the comfort of their lodges.

Climbing Devil's Tower

All that blabbering about one of my favorite films brings me to this story by the well-known Outside writer Mark Jenkins, who discusses his love for the towers ( which he calls a 60-million-year-old stump of intruded magma ) and finds in them a spiritual connection that has more to do with earthly qualities than extra-terrestrial ones.

Deadwood Trips

Well, I've been hooked for a couple of years now on the HBO show Deadwood. Now, I'm not advocating you go to Deadwood, but as you will read in this piece over at Sunset magazine, there is an allure to doing so. Some are obviously there because of the show (I wonder if you can buy a Swearengen doll that says c*cksucker when you pull the string?).
